📖 About the Library

The Library at Shaheed Bhagat Singh College has been an essential academic hub since the college’s inception. Over the last four years, it has transformed into a fully automated knowledge and learning resource centre, equipped with modern ICT tools and a CCTV-based security system. With nearly one lakh books and 100+ academic and general interest periodicals, the library continues to evolve to meet user demands.

With a daily footfall of over 500+ users, the library emphasizes ambiance, access, and enhanced resources, supporting both academic and leisure reading through its curated collections and upgraded facilities.

🌟 Key Initiatives

• Dedicated E-Resource Centres for students and faculty with access to DU-subscribed tools.
• Creation of a Centre for Shaheed Bhagat Singh Studies and Research with primary resources from NAI & NMML.
• Launch of a Voluntary Book Bank for underprivileged students.
• Light Reading Section added for non-academic content to inspire reading beyond the curriculum.

🏛️ Physical Infrastructure

The library spans three floors (two currently functional) and includes 180 reading hall seats. Renovation in 2010 revamped the first floor with modern furniture, book racks, circulation counters, and exclusive faculty e-resource areas. Facilities include Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, and Xerox access.

🔧 Renovation Plans in Progress

The second and third floors will be revamped with air-conditioned reading halls and a new audio-visual section.

📜 Library Rules and Regulations

1. Entry only with bar-coded library card.
2. Bags and mobile phones are not allowed inside.
3. Cards are non-transferable.
4. Library is a No Smoking Area.
5. Silence must be maintained.
6. UG students can issue 4 books, PG students 5 books for 10 days.
